
Emily Gilbertson is currently serving as a Long-Term Substitute Art Teacher at the High School in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin. In 2004, she graduated with an Art and Art Education Degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. In pursuit of her passion, Gilbertson continued her education by attending Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan where she earned her Masters of Fine Arts Degree in Painting. Gilbertson is honored to have received a Graduate Assistantship where she worked in collaboration with the Director of Exhibitions and Continuing Studies Director at Kendall. As an Art Instructor of the Continuing Education Program, Gilbertson taught sever two-dimensional courses in addition to pursuing her degree in Grand Rapids. Upon graduating from Kendall College of Art and Design, she was offered to teach an adult oil pastel workshop on Luther campus through the program Lutherlag. Gilbertson has also enjoyed teaching several sections of Art I and Photography for grades 9-12 in Mt. Horeb. Along with her teaching experiences, Gilbertson has also exhibited her work at numerous venues. University of Wisconsin—Baraboo hosted Gilbertson's paintings in addition to inviting her to be a Guest Artist and Speaker. She also lectured during Luther College's Senior Seminar under the invitation of Art Professor Douglas Eckheart and Art History Professor Richard Merritt.
